    I thought this memo would tickle some peoples' fancy (and start a
    treasure hunt, and cause some people to reevaluate how much their Taxi
    is worth, and...)

    It's the Williams memo with the details on the somewhat secretive
    rollout of the test "XR7" playfields (what would later get called DiamondPlate) during the Taxi production run.

    Hey Duncan,
    Always fun to see your archive posts!! I thought that mine was an early 1 and Python had commented to me that he thought it was one of the first ones out on test!
    The serial number is #160054 and It is on that list. I had to do ALOT of touchups to the PF when I got it and cleared it!! Is there any other distinguishing marks on the PF to determine if it is? I realize the PF could've been swapped before it came to me but I didn't see anything about DP or any other markings on it anywhere?

    Phoebe,

    I believe the notation on the top of the first page means they were
    marked with the letters "XR7" on the front edge in ink pen. Like the
    part that sits just above the coin door, hidden until you pull the
    playfield up.
