Hi,The Lock relay does two basic things: When the game is first turned on, it fires the Game Over relay.
Thanks for reading this post.
A neighbour has asked me to try and repair her Williams Gulfstream, to be honest after opening it I feel a little out of my depth.
I’ve read a few posts about the Gulfstream but can’t seem to find the specific issue I have.
The problem is the game will not start and the solenoid that fires the ball into the launch are does not operate.
• The coin device has been modified, I think it is somehow circumvented, can post photos.
• I’ve checked the ball counter and it seem to move fine
• All relays appear to work
• The cam device also seems to move freely
• When I press the start button the machine makes a lot of noise and appears to reset its self
• The reed switch that the ball sits on before it fired into launch area does something (I can hear a relay)
• There are no lights working at all
• The only item that seems to be active is on the table “Special’ if you press this the ball will kick out
• I have read that there is a lock relay, could this be at fault, does anybody know where this is located please
Any help, advice, support or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation

Gulfstream was the first game I bought back in 1986, and it's the game I learned basic pinball circuitry, repair and maintenance. If it was me, I would take it to a pinball tech, unless you are willing to zip through a ton of hours chasing red herrings and pulling half of your head of hair out of your head. Worst thing you can do is start messing with things that aren't part of the problem.
Most likely you have several issues in your startup sequence... there are several relays, score reels, and step up units involved in this circuit. Again, call a good tech is my advice.
