it took me a very long time just to isolate this issue, and be able to recreate it at will. now i need a solution. the hundreds coil was cooked from locking on. figured its probably the end of stroke switch. switch good, new coil locks on when you score 100 pts. it doesnt lock the relay. in fact, just manually advancing it locks the coil. if you break the runout contacts open, the coil releases. however, if you get to 9, even if the run out and 9 switches are opened, the coil is locked.
i finally figured out, it has to do with the 1000 and 10,000 reels. if either of them are at zero, the above happens. if either are any number other than zero, the 100 reel works normally. move either of the 2 last reels to zero, and on the next 100 point actuation, the 100 reels locks. manually move either of the last 2 reels off zero, it unlocks. the 100 point relay is never locked, no contacts bent, touching, etc. i cant wrap my head around this.
    any thoughts?
    thanks

    Get schematics.

Study what enables the hundreds coil to energize.

Isolate suspects by putting paper/thin cardboard in between contacts. If
the coil still locks on then try next contacts...
