Pin-Del,
If you don't mind putting them together yourself, Pinitech Uno displays are the BEST hands down! You cannot even tell if they are the original plasma displays or LEDs, once the filters are put on and installed. Priced nicely too!

Pin-Del,
If willing to do kits, these cannot be beat. We use them in several
pins at the Roanoke Pinball Museum and I have them in a S&S at home.
Have been very happy with them.
At one point, he got some defective components and stepped up and
replaced the problems promptly. So great tech support.
I just got the kit for Williams 6, but have not cracked the box yet. Oh good, something for me to do.

For Early SS Ballys' ?There are plenty of people selling displays for Classic Bally & Stern machines but I can guarantee none of them come close to the quality of Pinitech displays. As Jim stated above if you look at a machine with 1/2 Pinitech displays and half original displays you will not be able to figure out which one is which if you have the backglass on your machine.

Derrill Jr,
I just finished building Wolffpactech's Williams System 3 - 6 kit. The instructions are online and downloadable as a PDF.I think it is funny with pinball people. For years people complained about the period instead of a comma and wrong angle on the cheaper digits so Wayne (Pinitech) spent thousands of dollars on tooling having custom digits made up for his displays. And now people prefer spending a couple dollars per display less buying from other vendors.
Pretty straightforward. I like to save time by inserting all of the
IC's at the same time, then soldering them all at once. I repeat for
the resistors and then the caps.
The LED displays are a bit annoying because the tabs cannot easily bent
to hold them in place. But I eventually figured out a way to hold them
in place, then slide them onto my workbench. They are protected with a
film to keep them from scratching. I solder one lead, then turn them
over to insure they are flush.
I don't have any experience with other's kits for comparison, but
Wolffpac's work for me.
I would like the option of using IC sockets. Not sure there is the
physical clearance for them.

Chris (High End Pins) uses exclusively Pinitech displays on all his Classic Bally & Stern machine restorations that he puts LED displays in and has complimented them several times on his post.
Wayne (Pinitech) is my son so I might be a little partial but I also know the time and effort he put into getting those digits perfect and how much money he spent on tooling to get it right. He also spent a lot of effort being sure his displays used less power than anything else on the market. Wayne isn't one to self promote his products but if you are looking for the best at least give his products a look.

I'm sorry if offended anyone ( Skip ) from asking a simple question .
Yes, My Wife lost her job like a lot of other people & I'm a cheap ass anyway .
I have bought from Wayne & was happy with what I got & thought it was a great deal ! ( Yes, it really is), But I had no instructions other than "They are on my web-page",
That said I'm down to 6 games & 3 of these I have owned close to 20 years & I'm still plugging along.
60 years old, A brain tumor in my head & one wrapped around my spinal cord that can not be removed with out me in a wheel chair & I still bother to help anyone out with parts for their games .
For what "anyone" is selling these Kits for they can at least print 6 pages or so of instructions since I did not design this stuff.
Sorry, Not trying to tick anyone off,But a Bally Star Trek is not worth it !

It is nice of you to support your son. His products are great. I putSadly Wayne is likely making less profit on his displays than the guys using "off the shelf" digits once he factors in the additional cost of tooling for his custom digits. He knew there would be a "risk" investing thousands of dollars having those custom digits made but he was hoping there would be enough people in the hobby wanting more original looking displays to justify that investment. Sadly that has not been the case so far.
his in my EBD, which is a pin I value highly and will keep forever.
For me, the price difference is not worth it for an inexpensive game.
For lesser pins, I just want working displays that look good. I am not
a collector with a bottomless wallet.
"I think it is funny with pinball people."
We are not all the same. I think it is wonderful to offer different
products at different price points. It gives people the option to
purchase what they want and can afford. I hope Wayne keeps up the good
work so that people have that option. I can understand your frustration with those who 'do not see the light'.
