When I turn the game on it kicks out the ball immediately and the solenoid for the out lane ball trough stays locked on. This is before I push the start button. I can smell the solenoid burning so I have to turn the game off immediately.

When the game is off the solenoid moves freely, so something is causing it to fire and stay on after the game boots.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the driver transistor on the solenoid driver board is
shorted. Do you know how to test transistors with a meter?

Not really. I'm trying to figure out how to read the schematics in the manual to figure out what transistor it might be.

Manual says it is solenoid 9, and Q9 on the solenoid driver board.
