Nobody should accept Bitcoin for any large purchase. Most of us old timers will only accept cash on the glass. Some people will accept Postal money orders or bank wire transfers but everything except cash involves a huge amount of risk. There are so many scammers out there it is crazy to play their games with no recall.
If you really want to buy a pin in another town, drive or fly there and check the machine out in person.
