I don't like giving up on things but I think I might have to give up on
fsxNET. I thank everyone here for all your help. I've tried every suggestion and checked every setting and still can't post the the echos. When I run mailout it says it's sending but nothing shows in the message areas. The message on my end says "local sent." I've run out of ideas. It's not for lack of trying. Thanks to everyone who has helped me.

I haven't been keeping a close eye but I thought you could come to a solution.

The first thing that comes to mind it to be sure both zip and unzip are installed on your machine. If zip is missing outbound mail will silently vanish if a node is configured to use zip.

If you let us know what's happening we could walk through the process and help you get over any issues you are having.

Sometimes that can take time but I have lots of time.. :)

I'm happy to help you get this sorted.

What OS are you running and version of Mystic?

Would you be able to email me the ini files you are running to import and export echomail/netmail? My email address is avon@bbs.nz

Lastly I'd be happy to login to your BBS and check your settings if you were happy to let me have temp sysop access.

    Best, Paul

I do have zip and unzip in the folder. It shows that it's zipping the mail
when I do a mutil mailout. I have emailed Avon my .ini files for him to look over. Hopefully he can figure it out. I keep thinking it's a setting in the .ini files that I'm missing. Fingers Crossed :)

Good, I think that is all you need for zipping and unzipping.

I see Avon is looking over your ini files so I think you are in good hands but if you have questions we are here.. :)

First, cozmo, Avon/Paul is the guy who can really get you going. I'd suggest receiving his help and taking him up on his offer.

Not because I NEED you to be on fsxNet, although I certainly would like you here!!, but... if you 'give up on fsxNet, its more like saying I'm giving up on ALL FTN message networks; and ultimately, it'll be really boring and lonely without message networks.. I fear that 'i'm giving up on BBSing' comes next. And we need you. :P We need sysOps AND users. Stick in there; it sucks to hear, but YOU are failing the system somehow... if you feed whatever OS you're using the correct data, things will work.

And you'll have that knowledge forever. I'm by no means a computer hacker, but... don't give in. Avon can get you sorted. He's trustworthy. You can give him s255 and rest assured that he's helping you.

Yer gonna connect fsxNet. Thats it.

Well, I remember when I was new to fsxNet, and you offered... I was a little too proud, or whatever, and proceeded to figure things out on my own. It was a lot of hassle and a learning curve - then I met another sysOp who's was as new to this as I was, and he described how you helped sort him and afterwards he had all the knowledge to help ME on the final bits and pieces...

So, utilize this community is the takeaway. :P I wish I would have back when I got fsxNet rolling.
    Cheers...

Thanks for this feedback, it's appreciated. Yeah I think it's nice how if
folks learn some stuff then the next new person comes along then they offer
to help. I've seen it many times over the years and it's a source of pride
and brings a lot of pleasure to me to see people offer help and advice freely in this network.

Let us know if you get further with fsxNet... I guess we'll kinda be watching the show as it unfolds, but: Can't wait till we all can properly welcome your fully connected BBS to fsx.

Hoping you learn bunches from Avon, and you know... if he fails at all theres plenty of other guys and gals who know more than...... nevermind. :P

Right on. What you saw in Avon's changes will help you when [if] you connect to any other FTNs... I didn't really understand things until I connected to a few. [And I still don't get EVERYTHING, as I still hit some hiccups here and there...]

But, as you continue to grow into your BBS you'll pickup more and more. There may or may not be some guy setting up a new Youtube 'studio' in his spare office - where we can hopefully tackle some of these issues together.

    Cheers, Cozmo... welcome to fsxNet!

I'm learning something new every day. Everthing new takes time and learning.
I compare it to learning a new language. When you first start you have no
clue but as you go along you slowly start to figure it out. I like to figure things out myself, It's a good way of learning. But sometimes you reach a
point where you need help. I'm grateful for this board and all the people willing to help.
