Your BBS is no longer reachable. Shouldn't it be de-listed from FSX?

It is NOT reachable, and before you bother claiming you've "blocked"

My system spends a fair amount of time trying to deliver your Fido mail

Can I put your setup here on "poll only" ?
I have an alternate DNS address already set up. Can I give you that in Netma instead?
Whatever you say, man. You can say the sky is neon green, it doesn't make it true. And what have you contributed? Oh, right...nothing...

And this wasn't me telling TM what to (or not to) post, either.
At most, it's a suggestion, but really it was just a comment on another's suggestion. Wildly different than some of the posts
made by those we are forced to defend TM against.
More word-smithing to try and deflect from your behavior, which is nothing but two-faced and hypocritical. It's very obvious to anyone reading this. If any of your little buddies had any balls, they'd chime in and agree with me. Oh, and I love your claim of "we are forced to defend TM against..." Hahahaha, what a joke.

Please keep your echomail posts constructive, helpful and kind. I've
seen that you can do this. But if you find you can't then consider
finding another FTN that will be better suited to your needs. This is my final warning on this subject. Keep this up and I will de-list you from the network.
It is fair that you would give us both the same warning, and for my part, I sincerely apologize. As you say, I can indeed do better.
To everyone on fsxNet, I apologize as well. This is not how I wish to represent myself. I will take active measures on my end to ensure that this situation doesn't repeat itself...again...
I'm sorry. I let my own anger and negativity take control, and I let fsxNet (and everyone in it) down. If it happens again, I *deserve* to be de-listed.

What I mean is that this phrase is used by companies and institutions to fire/cancel/remove people because of their private views and morals. People have been dismissed for not subscribing to fringe ideas with this phrase used as justification.
Zealots are using seemingly innocent justifications to act in an awful manner.
I'm sure Avon is not using it in this manner, nevertheless seeing it
makes me wary.

I don't profess to get to right all the time, nor that folks who have come and gone from fsxNet feel that I have acted fast enough or quick enough or seen the 'issue' as they have seen it etc. All I can do is my best and be mindful that we all see things differently and react in different ways
I think its less important whether you get it right or wrong, but you're the backstop and when its needed you say something. We can all get
stuff wrong, the important part is to own it, learn from it, and move

Hi there :)
Thanks for your clarification etc. where I am coming from relates to this..
[snip]
So my expectation (not unsurprisingly) is that folks operating on fsxNet have agreed to conduct themselves with the above goals and values in mind.. so when I wrote to a couple of members not adhering to them this
is where I was coming from.
It is clear in fsxnet.txt that the risks of not doing so include de-listing etc. but that's not my preferred route to take, rather my
hope is the community can self moderate (and does :)) and 99% of members active in the network are self aware enough to realize when they are straying way off (what I think are) pretty obvious behaviours / values. There is that 1-5% of the time where I feel I need to step in and say something, often someone else has beaten me to it. I'm grateful it's
seen to be a community/team concern.
I'm not in FTN networks to spend all my time moderating and/or pressing next to bypass stuff I don't want to read because it contains combative antisocial or unkind content that I didn't come here for. I think others here feel the same way :)

I am super mindful that the joys of echomail mean you can infer a ton of emotion / tone / sentiment into something written by the original poster that is simply not there. But I have also seen deliberate trolling as
well :(

I don't want to delist anyone but I've made my views clear on this subject. My advice is if you're feeling in a combative mood it's best to walk away from fsxNet echos for a week or so before circling back when things have cooled off.

Are there published "rules" anywhere? BBSes always were more "common sense" rules, but that was back in the 90s...

IMHO, people were always less likely to be rude on BBSes and networks
that were real names. Back before the Internet, people were not as paranoid about using their real name but, with Internet connectivity and various Identity crimes on the rise I can see why they don't want to now.
I had assumed that the BBS community would be immune from this foolishness, but I have recently been proved wrong. Yes, I'm talking

Yes, and no. There are published rules for FidoNet, but not for fsxNet.

For the most part its ignored... seriously... and maybe rightfully so. Theres still references to modems and zone mail hour and how a "satanic BBS" may be denied from obtaining a node number. Its really dated and often pedantic.
But when its necessary for someone to troll or to have the last word in some stupid argument, all of the sudden its treated like gospel and everyone becomes a lawyer. Especially with the phrases "Don't be excessively annoying" and "Don't allow yourself to be easily annoyed".
Sometimes, when someone harasses you and you put someone on ignore, it's best just to let it go. I know in the past people have gotten on my nerves, and sometimes they say things that still do, but you'll feel better for it if you let it go. Otherwise they're living in your head.
Still, I did notice on your BBS someone has been constantly harrassing
you with creating stupid accounts etc, and I don't know the extent of
it, but that kind of stalking / harassment is not on at all. anywhere.
While coming back to BBSing I've tried to give everyone a clean slate in my head, there are still some that drive me up the wall. It can be hard, but just ignore it.
I wasn't aware that you frequented PiBBS. My apologies that it hasn't
been updated recently. I am often busy with work this time of year.
Because of recent events there, I have asked my various hub controllers
to mark my node as private. Also, pibbs.sytes.net will be permanently deactivated soon. Please netmail me if you wish to update your phone
book!
