I didn't use their service that often, but it was a good idea and worked well while it lasted. Unfortunately the big media companies sued them and they lost. Then terminated their platform. Sad, but at the same time that means less people watching their propaganda.

Locast had just added my metro area earlier last year, which wasn't too long before they went down. So I didn't really get much of a chance to use it. Before they added my area, I had been able to get onto a VPN for Seattle via my router (for a network-wide VPN), and I got the Seattle channels with Locast.

I didn't watch the local channels on it that often, but thought it was a great idea and would be beneficial to many. Unfortunately for Locast, they were dealing with the big media companies that even though you can get their broadcast over the air for free, they didn't want them streaming the channels for free without them getting some money. Big media sued them and that was the end of Locast.

? Locast's service was to stream local broadcast channels online for people who didn't get good antenna reception. What channels did they have aside from the local channels?

Only the local channels for your particular area.
