This probably isn't _great_ to post immediately after a spam post, but I
wanted to mention a Kickstarter campaign that I'd prefer if it succeeded, and it's right on the edge of succeeding/failing.

It's for Old School Gamer Magazine, and it's been around for a few years,
with a magazine that talks about old video game stuff. It's generally interesting, and possibly in line with what some people here might want to subscribe to.

    kickstarter.com/projects/ryanburger/old-school-gamer-retro-gaming-magazine/

For those wondering about it, but not wanting to spend money (at least immediately), you can read most things at https://www.oldschoolgamermagazine.com/magazine-free/

Hopefully this was okay to post here. I have no connection to it beyond just wanting it to continue being a thing, and hopefully do the interesting things they talk about in the campaign.

And it still feels pretty small, since they evidently have only 1000-ish subscribers to the paper edition.

That is seriously cool. I miss those old magazines. I sometimes
use archive.org and get a fix with old issues of computer
    mags.

Thanks for the heads up. I will look into it. I come from a boardgaming background where crowdfunding is a very popular way to launch games, so I am a bit skeptic as a result :-)

Yeah, I probably would have been somewhat more skeptical if I didn't come
from the background of having been a subscriber for a few years.

And, yeah, I've had more than one Kickstarter support that never really amounted to anything.

And I'm still waiting on three board games, I think. :)

Here, I went for the digital subscription level, possibly just trying to pay for something that I might be able to get for free. :)

    I'm glad.

And I do hope that people check out the free bits, regardless. Even if no one supports it monetarily, it does seem like something where people might want
    to check out the content.

Especially with a crowd of people who clearly have _some_ interest in old technology.

I really wanted to pledge for the Digital + Print for a year or more but it's only for Canada and the USA, shame.

    Ah well.

Yeah, I went with the lifetime digital subscription.

I'll probably continue subscribing to the print edition, regardless (assuming the campaign succeeds and they don't just do print on demand).

But, yeah, would be nice if they could send it to other countries, though I imagine it'd cost twice as much.

Right, I'd be happy to pay the extra to get the print version too. I ended up just subbing to the digital only for now.

Super neat, Adept - I'm taking a l00k at the Kickstarter... they're almost there!! I hope they can get over their edge. Also, I'll make sure I archive the [FREE] issues @ 2o, like I do... :P

Thanks for sharing - what I've l00ked at so far is quality!
