Back in the early 90s, my buddy Bill Reamy wrote his first and only door
for my BBS. Like most of the code Bill ever wrote, it was awesome and different.

Here was a platform shooter that used nothing but ANSI and stick
figures. It didn't take the world by storm, but I and many others
    thought it was very cool.

Sadly, Bill has recently passed away.

For anyone interested, I've put up a webpage for Stickman as a memorial
    to my friend:

    https://www.ipingthereforeiam.com/bbs/stickman/

Included are some screens as well as instructions for installing under Synchronet and 64-bit Windows using Dosbox-X.

There's also info for those wishing to request a branded registered
    version.

I'll take a look at this. I also ran a BBS back in the 90s - a Searchlight BBS. I loved that BBS program. Anyway, I had a friend who was going to write a program for me that was to be sort of one of those BBS hacking simulators, only our game would actually affect my BBS. For example, you could affect another user's time limit or number of files they could download or access level. I thought it would be a barrel of laughs. Unfortunately we never completed that game.

i said this before but i knew a dude that ran a bbs where everyone was the sysop and each week it would get reset. it was controlled chaos.
imagine this in the height of bbs popularity with lots of callers.

Sounds like a great way to lose your entire user base.

Did they put it on video? My friends made a video ... and one of them let the other have the button while wearing the colar.

Sounds like a potential plot of a Bevis and Butthead episode... Butthead convinces Bevis to put on the collar while he operates the button. ;)

There actually is one. It is on streaming, though (Paramount+), but the
first season did eventually make it to cable not long before the second
season was released. They are still funny, but not as funny as the
    classic 1990s version.
